About the Author
Daniel O’Brien has created the Japan Series out of a passion for learning and intentionally filled his novels with Japanese cultural points most of which he experienced personally. Each novel carries a theme such as “connections”, “friendship” and “exploration”.
He hopes that others find his musings on universal principles, learned in conjunction with the writing process, (as a member of a meditation center) as engaging and enlightening as he feels the learning has been for him. He uses the writing process to learn about giving attention to detail. He hopes that the mysterious aspect of his stories creates joy in his readers as it has for him. May all beings share in the joy of living!
Daniel O’Brien holds an MA in Advanced Japanese Studies. He lived in Japan for twelve years (1991-2003) traveling extensively within Japan and around Asia. He has taught English in high school and currently teaches Eastern Studies, Humane Letters, and American Government in high school. He is a SAORI Free-style weaving Leader’s Committee Member and weaving teacher and is fascinated by world languages and cultures. He looks forward to presenting about Japan and teaching meditation in 2018.
